I love business model design (and I think Clay Shirky loves it too)

Here is why
Clay Shirky states that a revolution is going on. He predicts an incredible growth in the number of groups that will be formed by using new media tools. More and new groups result in a greater spread of literacy and knowledge. This will fuel new professions, new business models and new kinds of value creation. Determining the net value of these innovations is problematic and can take place after the revolution at the earliest. The revolution is not only technological but also social by nature.

With business model design, you develop several business prototypes and predict potential cost structures and revenue streams. This gives a net value estimate a more solid business basis.
